We did some lure coursing this month to make the hounds happy and all of them are running well and earning points towards their titles.
First off...this past weekend Beth Levine of Serendipity Whippets http://www.serendipitywhippets.com/ traveled all the way from Washington to somewhere in Idaho :) and on Saturday "Ringer" finished his Lure Courser of Merit (LCM) title! He is now known as Can Ch HH Serendipity Eight Bells, LCM, SR, OTRM-2, TRP, DPC, CGC! He joins his litter brother "Tommy" (MBIF HH Heartland Fame, LCM as the first 2 LCM winners from their litter. We are extremely proud of Ringer and Beth and all they have accomplished together!
Vickie Smith of Heartland Whippets http://members.aol.com/vjswhippet/ also did some lure coursing out her way and "Marshall" Heartland HH What Women Want, Fch, CH Heartland HH Moonlight and Roses "Harley", and Heartland HH McLaren Longtail "Aren" all earned more points towards their titles both days! AND "Shamu-2" won the Halloween Costume Contest !!! She dressed up as the Sugar Plum Fairy and she also got to run in the trial in the Singles Stake, as she is 11 yrs old now but still loving to course!
At our trials here in Brooksville, Florida...."Andy" HH Heartland Hall of Fame, JC finally made his ASFA debut and earned a 1st and a 2nd! Bo (BIF Heartland HH LeBlanc Mirabeau, FCh and Amber (CH Windsong HH Sirius Amber Alert, FCh picked up more pts towards their LCMs with Amber winning BOB on Sunday! Greyhound "Rita" JL's HH Rita Skeeter earned a 2nd and 1st/BOB towards her FCh.
And last but certainly not least...We traveled up to beautiful Moreland, Georgia this past Saturday for the ASFA National Greyhound Lure Coursing Specialty. It was held at the Bear Creek Hounds Farm http://www.bearcreekhounds.com/ and it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful field and a well run trial with all the "Extras" to make it a very special event. Greyhounds came from near and far with some coming from as far away as CA, TX, CO ! There were some great running greys competing and it was fun to see the Windrock dogs and especially their handsome black Sobers export "Ippolito"who won the Match. Rita had an especially great day and won the huge open stake and went onto win BOB! Not bad for our little red girl who won't even turn 2 until January! The trophies were awesome and we left the perpetual ones she won up there as we didn't want a whippet chewing on one or knocking one off a table-they will be safer in Georgia awaiting next years winners! Hopefully the photos of them will turn out and we will post them here!
Until next month, Have a very MERRY THANKSGIVOWEEN ! ! !
